Associate Attorney – Civil Defense Litigation | Pennsylvania

A growing defense litigation firm is seeking a Pennsylvania-licensed Associate Attorney to join its team. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys meaningful courtroom experience, direct client interaction, and the opportunity to work closely with experienced partners in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

• Draft, review, and respond to complaints, motions, and written discovery

• Manage a caseload of up to 30 matters independently

• Attend depositions, hearings, mediations, and trials as needed

• Communicate effectively with clients and opposing counsel

• Mentor junior attorneys (a plus)

• Maintain accurate billing and meet performance goals

Qualifications:

• Juris Doctor from an ABA-accredited law school

• Active Pennsylvania Bar license in good standing

• 2+ years of civil defense litigation experience, ideally in one or more of the following areas: general liability, mass tort, toxic tort, construction defect, labor and employment, or insurance defense

• Experience taking and defending depositions, appearing in court, and drafting discovery and dispositive motions

• Mediation and trial experience strongly preferred

• Excellent written and oral communication skills

• Self-motivated, organized, and comfortable managing a busy docket

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and standard legal software

Compensation & Benefits:

• Salary range: $120,000–$140,000, commensurate with experience

• Quarterly bonuses based on billable performance
